Kirsty Lee Akers is a rare Australian talent. Proud of her Aboriginal heritage, she splits time between Australia and Nashville as she chases her dream of an elusive major US recording contract. Akers is the only artist in history to have won the three major prizes in Australian Country Music, Toyota Star Maker, Telstra Road to Discovery and a coveted Golden Guitar Award. The year 2016 was a career-defining one for Akers. Her 4th studio album entitled BURN BABY BURN debuted on April 1st and saw her achieve her highest ever chart position at #1 on release. The very same album has now seen five singles released that have all achieved #1 spots on the Australian charts. Her third single ‘I Will’ attracted a solid 150,000 unique video views within 3 days of release. Come awards season the album produced a stellar list of accolades including a Golden Guitar Award Finalist spot, an APRA Award finalist spot, Vanda and Young Song writing Competition finalist spot and three CMC TV Award nominations. Internationally it has seen her recognised with honourable mentions in the International Song writing Competition and also added to both CMT (Country Music Television) and GAC (Great American Country) in the United States.
