Leah Senior silences audiences with her other-worldly presence and unique lyricism. Her breakthrough album Pretty Faces twirls gently in it’s own form of psych-folk revival. The Melbourne-based folk artist creates fragile but effortlessly nimble melodies with soaring vocals that call from another time and place. Her songs evoke the peculiar, poetic and the plain, Rolling Stone saying “this is insular music, akin to eavesdropping on someone else’s prettily conveyed thoughts”.
Her captivating live performances have seen her supporting international artists including Calexico, Jeff Tweedy, Jessica Pratt, Julianna Barwick and more. When playing live, Senior is joined by her sister Andi and guitarist/pianist Jesse Williams creating a tapestry of ethereal harmonies and jangly 60s guitar tones. Her more recent material performed on piano has a lightness reminiscent of a playful Paul McCartney or The Kinks.
Leah Senior has performed extensively throughout Australia playing at major festivals including Golden Plains, Queenscliff Music Festival and in early 2018 embarked on her first headline tour of Europe, selling out shows in Spain, Germany and England. She is set to release her third album early 2020.
