At the end of 2016 Owen found not only 1 but 2 of his albums in the USA iTunes Blues Charts (Sunshine Road #4, Breathing Bullets #22). The lead up to this breakthrough has been years of grinding tours worldwide to audiences in the USA, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Austria, France, Switzerland and Japan, clocking up tens of millions of YouTube hits and thousands of album sales in the process. With the full band behind him, Owen is a true force to be reckoned with and a massive compliment to any festival event having performed locally at events such as Blues on Broadbeach, Thredbo Blues Festival, Sydney Blues Festival, National Folk Festival and more as well as major festivals in the US, Nepal, Hong Kong and Ireland.
The Canberra-based artist, a slide guitarist, songwriter, banjo player, blues singer, busker and more, debuted strongly back in 2011 on the back of a controversial and popular stint on Australia’s Got Talent, with his album Sunshine Road topping Australian iTunes charts and gaining up over 2 million YouTube views in the process. The 2013/14 album release The Pilgrim, which again debuted atop the iTunes Blues charts in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, yielded three Top Ten hits on the Australian Blues Singles chart, also being released with record label Reckless Grace Music in the US. Latest single ‘Rise’ reached #1 on the AMRAP Airit charts most recently with Owen’s two full length albums returning to #2 and #3 on the iTunes Blues Charts (Australia) this July.
Owen will be performing around Australia throughout July/August with solo and full band shows confirmed around the country in support of latest track ‘Rise’ with another release planned for November.
