Alison Avron is a singer and songwriter most known for creating Sydney’s cosiest music venue The Newsagency.
In 2014, she was nominated for Marrickville Council Citizen of the Year and Best Sydney Venue in the inaugral AU Review Awards.
In 2016 she was one of 54 Australian business to be a awarded a share in the AMP Foundation’s Tomorrow Fund
As a singer, Alison has been a finalist for the Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarship and has performed with the likes of Mahalia Barnes, Monsieur Camembert and even the legendary Kamahl. She has recorded 2 EP’s, a live album and more recently, travelled to New York to work with multi-platinum award winning producer, Philip Jimenez (Wheatus) on her debut studio album, Tiny Little Universe.
