Dush has been working in the arts, culture and entertainment industries for over 20 years. Most recently, Dush has been involved with organising, managing and programing Blenheim Music and Camping Festival; a boutique festival in Clare Valley, South Australia). With the foundation being Blues, Roots & Reggae, the festival program has developed & evolved and now encompasses a broad variety of genres & styles, including Funk, Soul, World, Electro, Country and more. He found his place at Blenheim Fest in 2014, initially as a volunteer, then as a board member (I was elected as Chair in 2015-16 and again in 2016-17.
In 2004 he co-founded Higher Ground Inc (HGI), which for over 8 years operated as a year-round not-for-profit arts organisation and multi disciplinary arts centre. Dush lead on creative and organisational development. Under his guidance, HGI successfully regenerated three run-down buildings in the Adelaide CBD, transforming them into arts and cultural hubs, presenting & producing local, national and international artistic & cultural work. Whilst the emphasis of his role as Coordinator at HGI was on programming, venue management and site management, Dush’s work also extended to collaborating with and mentoring individual artists and companies.
