Mark started his musical career at the University of Queensland while studying Architecture, when he and a few mates formed legendary Brisbane band The Riptides. From the outset he wrote his own songs and soon became fascinated with the art of songwriting. After The Riptides he wrote songs for the hugely successful ABC TV show Sweet And Sour and went on to co-found one the seminal Australian bands of the 1980s, GANGgajang. He penned a string of classic songs for the band including ‘Sounds Of Then (This Is Australia)’, ‘Gimmie Some Lovin’ and ‘House Of Cards’. Mark has toured nationally and internationally, written songs for artists as diverse as Jimmy Little, Debra Byrne and Nathan Cavaleri, composed the theme music to over a dozen TV shows and had his songs in plays and countless films.
