Mark Duckworth is the Festival Director for the Gold Coast’s Blues on Broadbeach and Broadbeach Country Music Festivals.
Mark’s passion and involvement in the creative industry started at just 10 years old, and since then his career has included performing, music production, project management, festival direction and event delivery.
As a production manager he has worked with international headline acts and is often in demand to co-ordinate at festivals and concerts. He has worked on events around Australia and throughout Asia and Europe, being involved in world premieres of films, award ceremonies and international product launches.
As a music producer and co-writer he has guided many musicians into sustainable careers with songs and albums reaching national and international airplay and charting within their respective genres. Clients and partners have included, Bleeding Knees Club, Casey Barnes, The Sea Shall Not Have Them, Tyrone Noonan, Bleach Girls, Tsun, and many more.
Achieving a Bachelor of Popular Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, his connection and knowledge of music is his strength on the ground as well as academically.
Mark also currently sits on judging panels for several Australian music awards, and recently joined the Regional Arts Development Fund Committee. He lives on the Gold Coast with his wife, daughter, the family dog, two fish, a large pile of comic books and a humble record collection.
