Black Angus is a man with many hats. Co-founder, producer, songwriter and DJ for ARIA Award-winning group Sneaky Sound System; owner of independent record labels Whack Recordings and Thembi Records; and of course, co-founder, host and DJ of the renowned travelling club night – Sneaky Sundays – now in its 20th year.
Angus began his musical life as a wannabe guitarist/singer/songwriter in the live music haunts of Greenwich Village, but a side trip to London in the mid 90s derailed those plans in a flash. Rave and club culture was going off, and the sounds of Detroit techno and Chicago house really struck a chord…so the guitars were replaced with a pair of 1210s, and so begun a lifelong love affair with dance music. Black Angus turned his hand to writing and producing in 2004, and a string of club and radio anthems followed that changed the face of Australian dance music. He has toured the globe at festivals like Coachella, Glastonbury, V Festival, Bestival, Wireless, Rockness, Isle of Wight, Global Gathering, Mysteryland, Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass, Good Vibrations, Big Day Out, and clubs like Space, Pacha, Paradise Club, Ministry of Sound and Scorpios, Mykonos.
