
Deb Suckling has worked within the Queensland music industry almost two decades.She spent a number of years cutting her teeth with Indie labels FunkFolk Records and Collision Records before founding her own label – SugarRush Music in 2006, which she now runs with her partner Craig Spann. Deb was the Program Manager for QMusic from 2006 until 2012, overseeing a number of projects including coordinating the Queensland Music Awards, Women In Music conference, BIGSOUND and coordinating professional development and educational workshops across QLD.
Deb has been on the panel of judges for the Queensland Music Awards, the National Indigenous Music Awards, a peer assessor for the Australia Council and Arts Queensland and has been invited to speak on panels and workshops across Australia.
Deb runs the Big Sky Girls mentoring program for young women across Australia, manages Leanne Tennant, Jackie Marshall and the Dave Orr Band. Deb also runs the #noton project and #youcanttakeme using music to promote awareness around sexual and physical violence against women.
